SFI is the nickname for Science Foundation Ireland, they are an organisation funded from the government to give researchers money to do science!

They have to decide which projects are worth funding and which are not, they have to be able to see potential of good idea while getting rid of bad idea which would only waste money, it’s a very tough job!

A fun fact is the SFI also fund the Irish I’m a Scientist, do you think this was a good project? Hahaha
