A day on Earth lasts 24 hours. During this 24 hours, the Earth rotates fully once. Which means that for a portion of the day, Ireland is facing the Sun, and for the other portion, Ireland is facing away from the Sun, which we call night time. So the Sun never really goes anywhere, we are the ones spinning towards and away from it!

The Sun does not go anywhere but the Sun seemingly disappear at night is the Earth’s rotation or turning motion.
